Career Resources
Are you in the reserves?
Yes I am, LayeredCake. I did a deployment in Eastern Europe, however, so I have a year's experience on active duty outside of the training pipeline. I know my reserve obligation will make time commitments to my private sector career more challenging but I am confident it is doable.
However, I don't want to necessarily advertise that I am in the Reserves. Would rather bring that up at the interview stage at the earliest (if not after an offer) to mitigate concerns that I have compromised priorities.
I suppose it seems I am being somewhat misleading (with that and my age/previous jobs) but I have a unique career progression that I am concerned will relegate me to the wrong pile of applicants if I don't make myself seem more like the typical finance major seeking an analyst position.
I made the transition from the military to the private sector a few years ago.
A few comments.
All that said, take all that with a grain of salt--I'm hardly a hiring manager at a BB bank. I'd be curious what some of the other folks around here have to say.
Thanks, square. I look forward to seeing what other folks have to say as well. I updated my attached cover letter and resume file.
Any advice?
Has anyone used the paid resume review service and can pm me their thoughts on it? Thank you.
I updated my resume/cover letter.
