Turn me into a beast...

I hit the desk in 10 months. How can I prep so that I’m just as good, if not better than the best. Not competing against anyone but myself, and I’ve had enough fun so don’t need to hear “enjoy senior year”.

What was key for you?

Enjoy your senior year

Edit: Seriously enjoy it. There is more to life than just trying to be number one in banking. I had the same thought process during college.. perfect gpa > internships during the school year > pjt rx/ms m&a/ gs tmt ft offer and it’s not worth it. I’m always extremely sleep deprived and stressed out, I don’t have time to see my family as i rather catch up on sleep or go drink away on fridays, I don’t have time for hobbies, I don’t even have time to work out, and I can’t develop any romantic relationship as I barely have the mental capacity to text people.

If I could go back at minimum I would had made sure to enjoy my senior year rather than trying to be a hardo just to end up working till 5 am editing a pitch and getting screamed at by my associate for the most ridiculous reasons.

I appreciate the advice. Thank you

Make a list of each component company of the S&P 500. One by one, spread 10 years of historical financials, then build a forward looking model using your assumptions for growth. To develop these assumptions, you obviously will need to read every industry publication and pay for a lot of sell side research, all worth it. Once the models are done, create a pitch book for M&A and refinancing options. You should have 500 models, 500 decks and should have had no sleep or social life and your health should be in decline. Now, take a red pen and cross out every page without context, writing "pls fix" with no other instruction. Once that is done, throw the decks in the trash, because no one will ever actually read them.

You are now ready to be a beast...

OR, indulge me here, you can go out with friends, talk to women (maybe secure that FWB), and actually enjoy your life before you have to do what I listed above.
