Investment Bank Q1 profits increased from $293 million to $709 million. Very strong for UBS considering profits for all of 2019 was $784 million.

Title calling UBS a top BB is just asking for smoke. But this is encouraging and hopefully UBS can continue its performance. Nice to see it's IBD actually doing well for once instead of being carried by PWM. Also funny the article quoted from RBC
UBS surprisingly did very well in Q1, 4th in US M&A league tables.

I am. Sure UBS has made strategic mistakes, particularly with mass-market M&A. But at the end of the day, a 40% jump in profits is def notable. Also all this bashing on UBS makes no sense in Europe where it is a true leader in advisory and corporate restructuring. Whatever they lack in U.S. tables they more than make up for in the Euro market.

to things bruh. First the reason that many banks performed poorly is bc they allocated money for defaults. Secondly they donated a lot to covid relief. much more than UBS did. so once banks bounce back UBS is going back to bottom BB
