UCLA vs McCombs
Just out of curiosity because these two are peer schools and because I'm trying to convince my friends I'm not that dumb because I applied to Texas instead of UCLA, how would you compare the two in these categories:
-recruiting (obviously)
-campus
-girls
-athletics
-overall experience (including academics and other factors)
You've already proved that you are dumb as you feel the need to justify to others your university.
OK, just because I don't like to take crap from other people makes me a dumb? Nice logic there. I'm not singling you out, but all the other people that called me worse shit just because I hate it when people judge me based on where I'm going.
Look, if you don't want to answer the question, don't answer, but please keep your snide comments to yourself.
Yes, you are "a dumb". Especially because you're going to UT-Austin.
Hey now... "a dumb" won't get him anywhere in Texas except Texas Tech or Texas A&M.
But while we're at it, I'm trying to figure out the grammar in "...all the other people that called me worse shit just because I hate it when people judge me based on where I'm going."
Back to the OP, who the fuck cares where you're going? Stick with your logic, and do what you think is right. Like someone else mentioned, you can laugh at your friends when your salary has more zeros than they can count.
Why not apply to both?
apply to
ucla texas cal mich uva duke unc
You should also apply to SD State (South Dakota). Bank recruiting was off da hook at SD State last year.
There is no need to justify to others what your decision is. Hopefully, your paycheck will do that in about four years time if banking is still as lucrative as it is today.
You're a dumbfuck if girls really make a difference in your college decision.
I've searched the Memphis roster and find no one named McCombs; maybe he was redshirted this year?
lol...good one
HEHurst- low blow. Maybe we can squeeze you guys into the football schedule in a few years and show you how to play a real sport.
original poster- It is hard to say who wins, because it is largely a matter of preference (I don't like LA that much). As far as recruiting for regional offices (Houston & LA), UT is the best in-state school (Rice is well respected too, but they are prety small in terms of recruiting), whereas UCLA has much more in-state competition.
Just invite your friends down to visit you on a few big weekends in Austin (i.e.- roundup), and they will get the picture pretty quickly.
jbc2436, no disrespect intended. I was thinking more along the lines of the upcoming game as opposed to the Elite Eight Memphis-Texas game when I made that post, but I guess the reference works on different levels.
I didn't see the Memphis-Texas game, but I caught most of the Memphis-Michigan State game - and they went through Michigan State like a bandsaw in the first half of that game. Rarely have I seen a team totally blow another one off the court like that, in such a high-level game between two elite programs.
b2 is obviously a tool. Don't even bother responding to him, despite how talented he is at proofreading internet message boards.
HEHurst, I know you were just kidding, I was just messing around too. Memphis made us look like a high school team. The crazy thing is that when I was watching them play Michigan State, I thought to myself that Mich State just wasn't playing well (because they looked terrible). Then I realized 2 days later, when we looked terrible, is that Memphis just makes other teams look bad.
They were so physically superior to us at every position. Oh well, it was fun getting that far, and they certainly deserved to go on more than we do. This should be an incredible Final Four.
OK fine, I see your guys' point. Sorry if I made any of you mad in my second post, I just disliked the comments that were made, and the fact that people are already putting me down because I'm going to a unknown school (to them) isn't helping. I shouldn't have taken it out over here though, so I'm sorry about that.
Seriously though, would you say the two are fairly even, or would you say UCLA is overrated to some extent?
that should say "out on you guys over here though" just so that my grammar isn't called into question again. sigh that SAT was probably what got me waitlisted at Cornell lol.
