Urgent - Feedback needed - WDYT of virtual unpaid internship?

I have nothing lined up for summer (offer rescinded from local MM bank) and my plan is to cold-email funds around my area for unpaid internships. The problem is, the internship will most likely have to be virtual in this current situation.

So my question is:

1. What would you think if someone reaches out and asks for an unpaid virtual internship at your firm? Do you think it's too risky/troublesome to have an unpaid intern work remotely?

2. What are the types of HF (e.g. L/S Equity), if any, where it is more feasible to delegate tasks to an intern remotely? I wanted to target quant-focused hedge funds because of my major in Math and Physics, but I don't know if it is even possible for them to delegate any tasks remotely.

3. I have been spending time on this algo-trading research platform called Quantopian. The platform allows you to research possible alpha-factors (e.g. fundamentals, sentiment), write an algorithm based on them, back-test them. I haven't found anything good yet - and probably won't anytime soon. Do you think I should mention it on my resume or is it too cringy?
