UT MSF vs UVA MS Commerce

I got accepted to both, and I'm in a tough decision. I'm currently at UT (math and econ), and I'm hoping to get into portfolio management long term. I hear both are comparable programs, so I'm leaning toward UT since it's cheaper and I like living in Austin.

Any insight is appreciated, especially from those in portfolio management or alumni of the programs.

both are solid programs, but I’d say McIntire to add to your network

I think UT and UVA will be similar in terms of placement and salary, but my sample size of alums from the programs are small. I have worked with 1 from each.

I would lean towards UVA for the brand and proximity to NY (assuming that is where you want to land post-grad). I would go for UT if you like the idea of doing Houston IB or working in Dallas/Austin.
