Value of getting an MBA for an advanced degree (physician) at MBB?

I am a physician who has transitioned to full-time consulting at MBB (US office). How important would it be to pursue an MBA in order to either climb the ladder at MBB or best set myself up for exit opportunities down the line (such as PE)?

I have heard mixed opinions, from completely unnecessary to must absolutely do it given lack of business exposure/finance experience?

Thank you.

your work at mbb is arguably more valuable than anything an mba could possibly teach you. additionally, mbb has moved away from requiring an mba to get promoted. i dont think you're missing out on anything here.
