VP Base Increase?

Looks like most Analyst and Associates have received communication on raises. Anyone know if VPs are getting a bump? Asking as my bank pays VPs and up a flat $250k.

Assuming it wont be going up but wanted to check? Maybe some of the lower VP paying firms like RJ @ $200k for VPs may bump them up to get at least in line with the new Asso3 comp of $225k.

100% bonus is a good baseline for VP1.  Banks vary with deferral but at my bank, 30% of any bonus above 100k gets deferred over three years.  25% of that deferral pays out the following year, another 25% the year after that, and 50% the final year.  If you've worked at the bank a few years, it's not too bad because you get backfilled from previous years deferred bonuses for what you lose this year.  It does suck your first year though.

I don't think all banks communicated associate bumps and even less did for VP. I think because analyst bonuses are on the summer cycle they addressed those first to kind of keep people from leaving. Since we are on a year end cycle maybe more come around and communicate raises then. Although it would make sense if they raised all around before extending offers to summer associates and stuff. Who knows.

Agreed. I'm still adjusting but As3 at $225k is high (not complaining $$). If VPs get a bump over $250k they would need to bump all SRs as from what I know, base doesn't go too much higher than that. Though one MD once complained to me that UBS was paying MDs $400k base which I could tell he envied.

I’ve always thought most firms have MDs  at a base of $400-500k

have never met somebody envious of UBS either tho

Does Jefferies still does that cash bonus clawed back if you leave within a year? I've read on this forum before but I never quite understood that entirely - doesn't that mean you always lose your last year's cash bonus if you leave banking (deferred was always meant to be paid out in future so you'd obviously forego that part)?

Would appreciate if someone could help me understand that!
