wall street study groups worthwhile?
I originally posted this in the trading forum, but I think it probably makes more sense here...
Hi all,
I'm new to the site, so thanks in advance for your help. I'm a sophomore at GW looking to get into Ibanking or S&T. We're not a target school but there are actually a couple of seniors that got jobs on wall street. The seniors that got jobs in finance started a club to talk about the markets every week, and I wanted to know if people here thought it was worth the time. They post all their stuff at wallstreetstudygroups.com (the wrap-ups section are kind of like what they talk about in the meetings). The meetings last a pretty long time so I don't want to waste my time if it's not worthwhile information.
Thanks.
Wouldn't that be your call? You've been to one so you should decide yourself if it's worthwhile assuming that they're knowledgeable and intelligent. It really wouldn't hurt to be updated with what's going on with the economy in my opinion.
yes. if you are interested in the material, why wouldn't would you go...? sounds like a cool opportunity.
For sure, sounds like a great opportunity to learn as well as do a little Networking. I would assume that since you are in DC you should network/try to get internships or exposure at some A&D groups. PM me if you have questions
