Watches for Investment Analyst
What are some good watches for an investment analyst in banking?
Looking for something in the $700-$1200 range. Brands and names of watches would be helpful.
Thanks.

If you want my opinion save yourself $500-$700 of those dollars and get a Citizen. You'll get more compliments on it than any Tag Heuer Omega or Rolex from upper management, if they even notice.
Plus with the eco drive line you do not need to worry about the battery. A perpetual calendar is great because you need to set it once.
Three criteria must be met:
1. YOU can afford it
2. YOU like it
3. it doesn't make you look like a d-bag
I love Nomos and have that as my number one upcoming brand. He could get a used Nomos possibly around that price range. I would recommend for brand new Hamilton (Auto Intra-matic), tissot (Vissodate), Stowa (Antea). If used i really like Tag Heuer Carrera line, some tudors might be floating around close to $1k.
People will recommend Seiko and Citizens which is fine but if you have any interest in watches i like paying a bit extra for good swiss made watch such as the ones i named above.

Learn moreIn that price range you might be able to get an automatic Omega Speedmaster. It is a bit smaller than the speedmaster pro (speedy pro) but still a recognizable watch for the money.
Can't go wrong with a CPO Omega Seamaster. Should cost ~2k but James Bond wears one
Real men buy blocks of prime real estate, bulldoze it and then build a giant golden sun dial to tell the time.
Frédérique Constant.

they're classy, discreet and look more expensive than they are without being in a tacky way.

Buy a swatch for $100-200. When you close a deal sometimes your firm may buy you a watch (rolex submariner or omegas are the go to), which makes any substantial investment in a watch in your first year useless.
Hats off to the guy that mentioned Nomos. I forgot all about that brand, but that one gets my vote. I actually really want to buy one now.
If you want a brand new watch, you can't go wrong with a Seiko, Frederique Constant or Nomos.
If you don't mind buying used, shop around on chrono24 - you should be able to find some nice Omegas or even JLC's in that price range (JLC is a fantastic watch manufacturer)
