Weber Grills, worth it?
Title is the question?
Are weber grills worth the premium price. 2 years ago I purchased a generic brand grill and paid $27.00(retail 150.00) at the end of the season sale. I know I'm not going to find a deal that good, and doing research now for a new one.
We cook just fine on our current grill and curious to see if Weber grill perform better or is it just marketing. 10 year warranty sounds good, considering the shield between the burner and grate is starting to rust on mine.
From your experience is it worth it and what are you paying for? It's not going to make a bad cook or decent any better.

Yes it was a propane grill that was clearance down to 25.00 plus tax. It was a decent grill that got the job done. It was nothing to brag about other than the purchase price.
classic design, quality is flawless and have had one for about 7y and still looks pretty much brand new - worth it lol
I have had one for a long time. The only issue I have had (still an issue) is the hose that connects to the tank developed a kink and now will only work if I fully extend the hose by removing the tank from cabinet.
Is that hose a part they would cover in their ten year warranty?
I do not know but the last time I called Weber, I grew a full beard while on hold.

I have a Weber propane grill (Spirit E-310) and it has worked great for me the past few years.
It's the first grill I've ever had, so nothing to compare it to. But I love having three burner areas so I can do 2-zone cooking, and a little rack up top to maximize the things I can cook.
I don't like to bother dealing with the whole grillmaster charcoal setup even if that's more of a purist thing. The gas works instantly and I can throw on my cast iron skillet, griddle, or dutch oven and it cooks some mean meals.
It's funny because I thought it was way too big for my small family at first, and the space is definitely enough,for leftovers for 3, but for get-togethers I have actually wished sometimes for more space (e.g. it will cook a package of Costco chicken legs, if they are all right on top of one another with not much extra space. I certainly would not go any smaller like the 2 burner grills.
agree with the charcoal - usually more trouble than its worth due to the mess, set up, and you have you really carefully control the heat which can be tough. gas just gives you so much more temperature control which is the most important in grilling. plus it’s just way easier.
if I’ve got the time / a great cut of steak sometimes I’ll do a classic wood firepit grill with mesquite or apple wood, but for everyday use gas is the way to go.
If you have to ask "is a Weber grill good" then yes, a Weber is good enough for you.

Yes, if I get one, it's going to be one of the better ones. So I want to make sure it's worth it. From what I can gather it is said to last 10 years w/ minimal care. So you should factor that in. It seems the customer service has mixed reviews, and I also read that the warranty excludes normal wear and tear. I'm not really sure what that means.
It should last for a long time, as there are not many parts that can malfunction. This is my second weber but I have had it probably for about 7 years. Now that I think about it, I wonder if the kinked hose was the reason was last one did not last. I bought the current one for its appearance which is cooper in color.
Worked at a hardware store back in high school where I built and delivered Webers. They are definitely expensive but if you take reasonable care of them, they will last a really long time. Had more than a few customers who when I'd be delivering it, they'd be replacing their Weber from ~20 years ago. Just make sure you clean the grates and burner covers and it'll last you longer than you'll need it to. As for cooking, I really don't think there is much of a difference; most grills are fine as long as you keep it clean enough so the heat is consistent and direct as possible.
Good to hear so upfront cost maybe high but since they have the potential last a while the annual cost may make sense.
