Weiss Asset Management: Who are these guys?

I have an interview coming up with Weiss Asset Management and I cannot find that much info on them online. From a few LinkedIn searches, it seems they do some interesting strategies (closed end fund arbitrage, shipping insurance, convertibles) but I cannot find that much on them outside of the few other WSO posts.

I interned at an HFT last summer but decided to apply for their fundamental team and am in their process. Does anyone have any insight into the process or know more about their strategies?

I interviewed with them. They are multi strat and have a pretty strong focus on quant. Seems like 50% of the IP are harvard/princeton/mit phds. I interviewed with fundamental investing and got cut. Believe AUM is 3b ish, they also invest in APAC
