What are the best careers for a Quant?

Hi, I'm a math major, economics minor at a top school. What are some of the best careers for very quantitative and analytical minds? Do you think Quant-Funds are still a good long-term-career?

"AMInPhase1" AM, trading, research

Thanks for your response. I want to deal with complex issues and i would like to talk to people. Should I pursue an quant research career? What job at a HF/ AM would suit me? Do you think Quant-Funds are still a good long-term-career?

I think that they would, as AM and HF shops are always in need of people who can do research for them. Quant funds are great, I work at a quant AM shop, just not in your field. I think that if you want to talk to people, AM would be a better option. You will still be able to deal with complex issues, but you will get to talk to people more than if you were to work at a hedge fund.
