What are the worst / best paying banks
Hi All,
What are some of the best paying / worst paying banks in New York. When reading about banks people are always complaining about pay. I've heard rumors about many banks (good and bad) and don't want to start recruiting at banks that don't necessarily pay well.
most banks follow pay at the street level (85k) salary for incoming analyst 1st years
Thanks what about for upper levels like VPs and above.
.
JPM & GS should be best paid.

No big surprises here, but it looks like boutiques are kicking some ass:
Uhhh don't think that's accurate.
MM (Macquarie, etc) BB (GS, JPM, etc) EB (Evercore, Moelis, etc) Centerview
And why is WF not mentioned here??
Not surprised by this. JP Morgan is absolutely killing it right now. This is just one example, but a friend of mine is a 25-year old associate there, trading exotic derivatives and made around $650K this year including bonus.
Interesting that they mentioned PJ Solomon out of all boutiques...
PJ Solomon out of all boutiques?!?!?!
PJ Solomon out of all boutiques?!?!?!
i cant see the video
"275,000 bankers that have been let go by the big banks since 2007"
uh... 275k i-bankers laid of since 07? this figure has got to be way too high. no way no how.
I was going to comment on the same thing when I first watched this.
Id like to know what a more realistic number is... Unless they are considering anyone that works at a bank an ibanker.
anyone else wanna bust all over this indian chicks face?
I assume the 275 000 laid off bankers include tellers, cleaning ladies, janitors, building security, maintenance etc
There is old saying "money goes were money is" this list is not shocking at all.
I can't see anything
What about non-american banks? I have heard GS doesn't pay that well before you get really high up because of their brand value
NY Bankers Highest Paid; London Lowest (Originally Posted: 04/06/2009)
The annual Napier Scott survey was released on Sunday, revealing that New York bankers are the highest paid in the world and, surprisingly, London bankers are the lowest:

While just about everybody took a hit last year, it looks like PE and PWM guys fared the best overall. To no one's surprise, structured credit guys got the shaft.
Average MD's outside of New York pocketed around $750,000 last year. No word on the domestic variety.
The london bubble has popped!
Though a lot of that has to do with the decline of sterling.
Hardly a comprehensive survey of the market, look at the areas it covers:

Heavy on derivates sales and trading, structured credit and PWM. Not much IBD in there
exactly, those people aren't even really bankers by the definition any wall street-savvy person would use.
