What does the Recruiter Mean by "Interested"?

Guys, I have been following WSO for a long time and learned loads of great advices. This is the first time I post anything so please bear with me.

I'm currently working as an intern in a BB (JPM/Citi/BarCap) Corprate Finance product group, in a regional office (think southeast corner). I graduated from a semi-target in Dec 2013 with a 3.7 GPA and started working in Jan 2014. Now as a non-immigrant, my work authorization is expiring in Jan 2015 so I need to make a move. I'm trying to get back to Asia because of my background and past experience (summer analyst at a BB IBD Beijing office).

For almost a month, I have been reaching out to recruiters, alumni, and people I worked with in the past in the region. Luckily one recruiter of the BB I'm working for (SG office) replied and said the HK recruiting team were interested in my profile and told me to apply online for their program. He also mentioned that HK HR will reach out to me ASAP. But it's been a week and still no news. I already applied and also followed up with the HK HR team but they were very busy with campus visits these several weeks.

I'm trying to find out what I should be expecting, for instance the same 3-4 rounds of interviews as normal campus recruiting? Or is it going to be more of an internal process, e.g. talk with the team I'm going to work for and see if they like me?

Any insights/opinions are welcome. Also if anyone could kindly provide some suggestions on my strategy it would be greatly appreciated.

Yes adaptordie, that might very well be a big impact on the recruiting of the firm's HK office, considering the headquarter is right where the "sea of people" are right now. But since I got the reply from them earlier last week, do you think I should keep following up on the process or let the situation turn down a notch before I contact them? I just want to have an idea of what I'm dealing with here, if not more details

As much as I appreciate your feedback, this seems pretty irrelevant as my gas mask was already taken by the police in last night’s event. So that’s a no go. Any other suggestions is much appreciated though.

Nope. I was a foreign devil for 9 years.

Those who can, do. Those who can't, post threads about how to do it on WSO.

Bump. Trying to get some more feedback
