...what exactly am I being interviewed here for? Tips?
I've got a phone interview tomorrow for a position with the title "Excel Specialist / Researcher".
Description: "We are a financial planning firm offering comprehensive financial planning, wealth management and tax services to clients across Canada.
We are looking for a resourceful, motivated individual seeking challenging summer employment to participate in a series of research and analysis/organizational projects to support the company’s operation activities."
Will this help me land an IB internship next summer? Does it relate to a SA position? (I'm asking if it'll impress recruiters, either way I'm going to take the job if offered because it's this or nothing. Will it impress them though?)

Its sounds sounds like its at the very back of back office, but it way teach you some excel and accounting skills for IB. Is it at a big name firm?

Any relevant Sophomore internship is good and keeps you "on track". You could have done better, but you could have done A LOT worse. No way to know for sure until you get there. If you do real work you'll be ahead of even many BB interns.
