What hobbies do you go have outside of work?

I am trying to recover from burnout, and thought looking into hobbies outside of work would be a good way to get my energy levels back up and running. Doesnt help that COVID has limited much social interactions and outgoing activities?

Wondering if people on this board have any good recommendations?

Triathlon is challenging.

Lately, various types of exercise and chess.   I am not sure how long the chess one will last, as I hate to lose and I am doing a lot of it.

I kid you not I managed to fool’s mate someone in a chess championship. Overall did poorly but that was def the highlight xd. Kid was stunned and embarrassed.

video making and photography.. so many artistic and technical elements to both crafts. you can really get lost in it all

music: instrument playing, singing, recording, mixing. been my passion hobby since I was 6

cooking: experimenting with different flavours and ingredients - kind of gastronomy-esque in a way

cycling: both bicycle and unicycle

lifting weights: because gotta get those gainz

pretty lame but i genuinely do enjoy giving advice to kids on careers. working on a site atm to consolidate some of the advice i've given into one place

traveling: especially off the beaten path or to try some kind of experience (e.g. dune surfing, skiing, authentic sushi etc) obviously on hold due to covid

bit of a weeb as well. anime, especially productions that have authentic / deep stories to tell, is highly underrated

kind of stopped now but would love to get back into reading again

Was obsessed with finance, now do product in tech

I'm into a lot of that stuff too. Photography is really interesting, there is an endless amount to learn and appreciate. I've been spending a lot of time on Magnum Photos and going through all of their photographers portfolios and it's incredible stuff. Dove into some Henri Cartier-Bresson too and that was amazing. And obviously there's editing and the world of Lightroom. It really is a phenomenal way to always keep yourself entertained.

I used to surf more when I was younger.

UGA -7 Texas A&M -7, I think tamu is going to win by 3td's at least, and Cincy hasn't played anyone and way over hyped. I also got bama at -17 when it opened and its now at -20, that'll be a bloodbath too. It looks like SEC bias but they all just seem so obvious. Taking rockets/nuggets over tonight too if you see this in time lol

I often go Duck/Pheasant hunting. I spend a good chunk of my daily WFH breaks training my lab with bumpers, fetching.

Would love to do more big game, but don't have the time at this stage in my career.

I would love to take a long weekend or even a week to go out on an Elk/Mule Deer stalk in the Midwest at some point in life for sure. I have always wanted to go out bird hunting like that as well, I just need to find some good spots/public land in Upstate NY for it. Really cool that you are training your lab too, I want to train my GF's blue heeler and take it out in the fall if I find some promising land.

Where do you hunt mainly?

I also like to scroll Netflix for a while, never watch anything, then fall asleep watching people lift weights on youtube
