What real estate private equity, investment banks, advisory, or REITs hire straight out of undergrad?
I'm specifically looking for acquisitions, investment analyst, debt/equity placement, or REIB positions. I have a solid asset management internship at a well known company, but I want to get more modeling expertise under my belt since I want to eventually get to a top REPE
Suggestions?
Makes more sense to find out which ones don’t hire from undergrad. And even those will have a one-off exception from time to time. Real estate hiring is less structured, more needs-based, and based on fit/personality compared to investment banking, so just start reaching out to people to talk.
Modeling is just a box-check. It’s pretty easy to learn through BIWS or REFM. Just suck it up and pay the money for one of those courses and you’ll be better off because of it. I’m a year in and I still use BIWS to brush up on modeling skills.
Which modeling course would be best? BIWS or REFM? Which could give me a good knowledge of asset level deals and company level deals?
Agree with other answer too. Don’t think REFM even looks at real estate from the corporate perspective. BIWS has good case studies on both REIT valuation and REPE acquisitions/development
