After spending a night black friday shopping for clothes, I came to wonder what type of dress shirts all of you wear to work. Do you get an off the rack or do you wear a custom shirt? Boutique shop or a well known store? Is the worth of your shirt correlated with your income level? Do you guys even care?
I'll start first:
Tailored off-rack shirts, ~$35 each, entry level
Brooks Brothers, but if you like a more European fit try Charles Tyrwhitt
Brooks Bros slim fit, and I get darts put in by my tailor. Shirts are the one item that I don't spend lots of cash on. For me at least they wear out quickly.

Charles Tyrwhitt non-iron, extra slim. Blue and white with a light pink for Fridays / occasional drinks events. London.
Black Brown 1826, slim-fit, spread collar.
Charles Tyrwhitt hands down are the best value.... I probably have 50-60 of them in my closet! I also like Harvie and Hudson, some TM Lewin, and if I want something tailored J. Hilburn (or a local company in my area). I have quite a few Brooks Brothers polo shirts but their fit (even slim) is terrible.

Jos a bank mostly. I could care less about my shirts as long as they look nice. Been delaying on getting some CT shirts though for a bit better value.
@yeahright: Same here. I'd rather go to Jos A Bank for a lower priced dress shirt. Their traveler's shirts are decent for the work place. Depending on chest size, get tailored or slim fit.

Order from the UK website to save money. You generally can save about 25% or so depending on the strength of the USD.
Usually stick to Brooks Brothers, Charles Tyrwhitt or TM Lewin but have no problems buying shirts at Kohls or Macy's and getting them tailored. Only time I buy shirts are during sales
I like the quality of Jos. a Bank shirts, however I hate front pockets.
yeahright, CT shirts were $29.50 yesterday. Not sure if htey still are. I ordered 6. Will have to get them tailored though due to my build.

Huzzah! In for 3 at 29.50 despite the deal ending yesterday you can still manually go to the willis promotion part of the site and do a checkout. Takes a couple times to get the right prices to go through but finally got it.
Got a few Eton shirts at a sample sale. Now I'm annoyed when I have to wear anything else.

I like to pick up some medium tier shirts when I'm on vacation in Italy. Apart from that CT (and occasionally TML) does the trick.

I've seen Eton shirts. They look ultra high quality; just super expensive.
Eton shirts are very nice, they look like brioni. Thomas Pink have shirts on sale at the moment.

CT when it's on sale which is basically all the time, is one of the best deals out there. Just have to deal with getting it tailored.

Brooks Brothers have huge sales during this time. 50% off everything in store for outlets. Also to echo everyone else here, CT is great for the price.

@garkis6706: I would say 10 shirts amounting to about a two week supply. You should start with basic colors to make the tie/suit combos easy.
7 whites and 3 solid blues (different shades).
charles tyrwhitt slim fit are the best value
Eton shirts, started wearing them about 4 years ago (quality was a little better back then because they weren't as mass produced) and haven't looked back. Don't have to worry about dry cleaning them.. just cold water wash and hang and they'll dry wrinkle free.
Nordstrom Trim Fit Brand shirts fit me the best. On sale they are approx 45-50
On a good day, I wear Kenneth Cole dress shirts, which I'm able to buy from one of their outlet stores. The rest of the time I wear cheap in-house brands from Kohl's or Macy's that I'm hoping to replace with something higher-end. While they're okay for some occasions, I do not recommend buying shirts this cheap to wear to the office. Pay up for a designer, the difference in quality is well worth the extra money.
Scotch & soda has a good selection of nice shirts, good price for great quality and timeless styles
If you're not a fatty head to Kamakura Shirts on Madison in the upper 40's. Slim fit, darted (slimmer than BB ESF) and the fabric drapes fantasticly after the first wash. One of the best values out there. The only downside is they are must-iron shirts so either start sending out your laundry or buy an iron. Kamakura has been my favorite so far after trying Brooks Brothers, CT and TM Lewin.
