What to Watch Out For Regarding Trading Job Offer From Small Prop Shop?
Hi all,
I just received a trading assistant job offer from a small prop trading firm in chicago. The offer letter has base salary information, when bonus is giving out, benefits about health insurance, 401k. That's it. The entire offer is less than one page long.
I was wondering are there anything else should be included? What are the things I should know before I sign it?
I have done some research on the company, but because it's small, there aren't a lot of information. The interviewers told me that they don't make employees use their own money to trade. The training program for trading assistant can be anywhere from less than a year to 18 months depends on how individuals. Usually they don't drop trading assistants.
Thank you very much for your time!
What else did you expect?
I guess things like non-compete, holidays, maybe retirement? not sure..
This is my first offer from small prop firm, just comparing to my friend's an offer from BB, which has an entire booklet of stuff..
Do you think that's enough? Should I ask about others?
Thank you very much for your time!
Never got anything like that in my BB offer.
Are there any aspects in your offer that are not included in the things I have mentioned? If so, what are they?
How new is the firm?
about 12 years
its a small firm, so naturally you dont have same things that corporations have.. If you want something specific, then ask them..
yeah. I just want to make sure I am not missing anything before I ask them... thanks for the reply!
Are you looking for vesting periods, gym, dental, vision, meal plans? what? Usually if they have any of those they will be in the offers.
thanks for taking the time to type them out.
wow apologies, I was gonna click on the banana but accidentally clicked on the icon next to it.. now I am out of points to give you bananas...
I gave you bananas on your earlier post. Thanks for the reply.
This isn't entirely true. All the job offers I have received (2 internships, 3 full times) all have been 1-2 pages. For all of mine the health plans, discounts, holidays etc. were sent seperately after I asked about specifics.
And these were F500 companies and 2 BBs.
