If I am going out to a casual environment, i.e. local bar or movies, I'm wearing my etnies or dc shoes. I'm not much for dress shoes outside of work.
My shoe selection depends on where I'm going and who I'm going out with. I will wear anything from Doc Martin's (Steel and Non-Steel Toe) to Timberland Boots and Feragammo Loafers to Sperry Topsiders. It just depends on where I'm gonna be.
I wear Doc Martin's all the time.

Hey all-
Need some advice on shoes for going out in NYC. Nothing too crazy, just the typical bar / lounge scene with occasional forays into clubs. Typical areas to go out include LES, the Village, etc.

As I mentioned, I'm not a huge fan of the suede. The comment re: Topsiders was definitely beneficial, as I think those would be comfortable yet also nice enough to wear with jeans and button down or whatever, the typical NYC night out uniform.

Boat shoes/desert boots/loafers/driving shoes pretty much cover it for me. Also Bean Boots if there's a ton of snow and the bar is more casual. Not sure why everyone is hating on suede, it's a nice alternative to normal leather shoes, although can look terrible if the shoe isn't very basic/classic. I'm with AA though on those shoes, although I wear something similar in brown instead of tan/sand.
Also, stay away from Ecco and that garbage. Sperrys aren't that much, and look much better. Sperry Topsiders are my go-to shoe for the most part.
i like black chelsea style boots. get them not too wide with a rounded toe...sort of look like dress shoes, but less dressy.
Budget? If you are going higher end, can recommend John Lobb, Edward Green, Gaziano & Girling, and Crockett & Jones.

Unless I am reading this wrong, I believe he was relating the two in a cause-and-effect relationship, implying that if an individual were able to acquire shoes sold by Gucci or Ferragamo, then that individual will undoubtedly find that he is able to acquire pussy with relative ease. He does also add the corollary that if that same individual were to have an amiable personality and desirable physical appearance, he might find it even easier to acquire the aforementioned pussy.
