Very good question, I’ve noticed them too.
Weekend to catch up on sleep is your best bet.
yeah ive been going too hard on weekends lol. whisky and takes its fucking toll lemme te ya
Concealer, seriously. Just make sure it matches your skin well + get one of the blender sponges and you're good to go.
Water, brickell eye cream.
Long-term: Adapalene (OTC Differin) / Tretinoin (Prescription)
Start very slow with Differin and do your research, maybe graduate to tret eventually. I started using Differin twice a week around when my analyst training started (~4 months) and I’ve become gorgeous. All acne gone, acne scars faded, skin tone smoothed, no more noticeable eye bags. Even when I do breakout now it’s barely noticeable and goes away in a snap. All of this despite sleep/diet going to shit due to IB. Has worked wonders for me as a man.
Also wash/moisturize twice a day and use Benzoyl Peroxide on my face once a week for 5 minutes and wash off. Start slow and do minimum needed for results! For some people Differin causes a breakout phase (called a purge) but it didn’t for me.
Guide:
Huh, I’ve been using differing for around a year and I never thought about applying on my eye bags. How long did it take for them to go away?
differin is fricking amazing if anyone hasn’t tried it yet.
did yall consult a doctor/derm before trying differin?
Did not consult a doctor before Differin (it’s OTC) but did start very slow and watched videos from Dr. Dray on YouTub.
Yeah Differin is amazing. I don’t literally apply it on my lower eyelid (nobody do this!) but definitely on the upper checks next to my nose where eye bags tend to appear. Within 3 months I just didn’t have eye bags anymore, that area has smoothed out a lot. Of course if I only sleep 4 hours then I will have some bags for a few hours.
I believe in taking care of myself, in a balanced diet, in a rigorous exercise routine.
In the morning, if my face is a little puffy, I'll put on an icepack while doing my stomach crunches.
I can do a thousand now.
After I remove the icepack, I use a deep-pore cleanser lotion.
In the shower, I use a water-activated gel cleanser.
Then a honey-almond bodyscrub.
And on the face, an exfoliating gel-scrub.
Then I apply an herb mint facial masque,
which I leave on for ten minutes while I prepare the rest of my routine.
I always use an aftershave lotion with little or no alcohol,
because alcohol dries your face out and makes you look older.
Then moisturizer, then an anti-aging eye balm, followed by a final moisturizing protective lotion.
There is an idea of a me.
Some kind of abstraction, but there is no real me.
Only an entity-- something illusory.
And though I can hide my cold gaze...
and you can shake my hand and feel flesh gripping yours...
and maybe you can even sense our life styles are probably comparable,
I simply am not there.
Genetics. Don't waste your money on under-eye lotion. My friend works at a high-end face salon by union square and she told me eye bag creams are BS, and nothing can be done about them besides sleeping, lotion, drinking water. Nothing wrong with eye bags. I know people in their 40's who were party animals and have no bags, and I know people in their 20's that have an amazing diet + sleep routine and have huge bags.
I agree that getting bags under your eyes is mostly based on genetics. If you take a look at your parents, you will get a pretty good idea about what you are going to look like. My dad is like 80 and has no bags. It is possible that lifestyle is a contributing factor. My dad never worked crazy long hours nor did he do any drugs.
However, I do think that retinol cream can have a positive impact on skin. With me, using retinol on the goatee area has made a positive difference. I think it improves the tone of the skin and allows the hair to come in better.
It’s good to look old so when you’re raising money, people look at you and think…
“This guy actually works and will viciously protect my capital…”
And not…
“Does this guy go to the salon on weekends? Why am I a pension fund writing a 15 year old a massive cheque? He doesn't even have a beard.”
There is some truth in all of that. Having some grey or being a little bald helps develop trust when trying to gather assets.
In my office, having dark circles under your eyes is a sign of prestige
