When You Make F*ck You Money
Recently read something about David Tepper's Revenge Mansion and had to share:
Back in 2011, David Tepper (Hedge fund manager of Appaloosa Management) bought his old boss' ex-wife's Sagaponack mansion for $43.5 million and then tore it down to build this massive 15,000 square foot estate with a dick-shaped pool. Apparently, Tepper's old boss (and former Goldman Sachs CEO) Jon Corzine didn't promote him to partner so this was his way of sticking it to him.
It begs the question; when start making F*ck You money, what are you going to do with it?
I feel like the pool could've been more dick-shaped than that. 7/10 effort.
What do you mean? Your ballsack isn’t shaped like a rectangle?
Idk how anyone like Tepper can still be miffed, not being promoted to GS partner was (possibly) the best thing to ever happen to him, he's a hedge fund legend because of it. If I had fuck you money I wouldn't bother with petty "revenge".
Agreed. A little childish for someone as prominent as Tepper.
I don't understand how buying some shit is supposed to "stick it" to anyone.
I think he was trying to piss Corzine off by demolishing his old house and building a bigger and better one. I'm sure Corzine just rolled his eyes though and I doubt he lost sleep over it.
He really stuck it to him by purchasing a house from him and doing a renovation. lol what a fucking dweeb
hopefully one of my former cohorts will buy my house for $44mn
This was Corzine’s plan all along. The long con.
This.
Tepper is a legend. He got shafted, at the time, by Corzine cuz he considered Rubin to be his mentor and thus went over Corzine's head. Subsequently, Corzine has shown he is an abject joke and is worth between an estimated $1 Mil - $40 Mil. https://www.nytimes.com/2017/05/18/business/dealbook/jon-corzine-wall-s…
So Tepper has made his wife richer than he is by buying his country house, good for tepper, he creates wealth Corzine destroys wealth.
Personally, seems it's less of a middle finger to someone than it is proving that you've let someone live rent-free in your brain... but hey, if that is what drives some people, whatever works for them.

Pretty much retired myself from watching the NBA when Kevin Garnett retired.
Have heard Hubby and my NBA-watching friends that "The Process" is someone to watch... maybe I should get back into watching the NBA some, but "The Big Ticket" left some massive shoes [and stats] to fill.
I SO miss Mad Men! The verbal grenades on that show, especially in many a scene with Mr. Draper.
Don Draper was aiming here for that blase savagery that he dispensed all too well. Irony is, he was actually rather threatened/bothered by young Ginsburg's talent, but Don wasn't one to easily praise anyone. Kinda broke my heart when they made Ginsburg's character go koo-koo,
Well played, and valid point.
This dude will probably be dead in like 20 years and all he can think about is how to get back at an old boss.
I dunno, maybe help someone in need with all those millions you've made?
