What I mean is that the potential rioters (we all know ow who these are) are still in denial. They still think Trump might win/have won.

Once they realize that it's a done deal, (whether it takes couple weeks or a whole year) they'll either start rioting or have lost so much energy by then to do anything.

Yeah, as predicted. 70 million people across the nation didn't get their way, not one city burning down. Just imagine if Trump won. You know what would happen.

One side seems understand better that looting doesn’t improve your city or protect people you care than the other side. not 100%,but disproportionately.

It will be interesting to see who perpetrates the next protest that "gets out of hand".

If I had to guess why each group will protest.  The right will because They do not like the change in policy or the courts get packed.  The Left because of either a Supreme court case ruling or police violence.

Which will happen first.  If the right doesn't protest by end of year (or biden's first 90 days),  Then it will forsure be the left that will protest.

The type of Republicans that would loot don’t live in cities. The type of Republicans that live in cities won’t loot.

Ugh I just love them! Whenever they comment a voice in my head goes “THIS.” They are the change.

That's a strawman. There are very valid reasons to oppose trump.

I was speaking about this with a friend recently and it is funny/sad. Democrats have legitimately seized power through force. Whether that be mentally (thought and speech police) or physically (burning things down, looting) when they don’t like an outcome.

Speaking of the “new normal” I would say this is the new normal. What they have done is actually very effective because to be honest, I don’t even care or want to know if there was widespread voter fraud because it would just yield cities burning down and violence including death, which is also known as peaceful protesting.

Someone here said it, but if you are a moderate democrat/liberal and you aren’t seeing the issue with this stuff it’s actually pretty sad. I know the retort will be along the lines of “well this is what happens when voices aren’t heard etc” but is that the real logic you use when you see people ransacking an Apple store?

Yes and it has gotten to the point where the last time there was a riot in Chicago over “police brutality” the person who was shot opened fire on cops before being shot with an illegal handgun. I think it was on film and I believe the person survived.

What is going on is a masterful tactic because I think they are just wearing down society to become so jaded that they are indifferent to any values or morals they hold true.

I am guessing that I am not alone in not wanting to know if there was voter fraud, I don’t even want an investigation. This may be one of the most unamerican things I have ever said but: I would much rather have Biden as president than 3+ months of rioting, violence, and cities being burned down if voter fraud is uncovered and the election goes the other way. I think that illustrates the example well. I also am starting to think that cops shouldn’t really be proactive at all because it increases the risk of an altercation which will lead to rioting.

I just want to continue my life and be left along and also not hear about this shit 24/7. The only issue I have is if they won the senate as well and my taxes skyrocketed. I would be willing to have anyone as president if my taxes can just stay the same and people stop rioting.

Rofl I didn’t know getting more votes means using force.

Right now there is the Democratic Party and the Fascist Party.

CRE

Trump supporters don't live in cities. Hard to organize a riot in the middle of nowhere.

Dude the level that you’ve been reaching to lately is beyond mental gymnastics. Friends of mine who are reasonable people who vote Democrat understand that it is an issue that is only happening on one side. You really think republicans aren’t rioting right now because there are not many in the West Village?

Just to refute that real quick, please check this article: https://www.bbc.com/news/election-us-2020-54783016.

The Major NYC Counties: 1. New York County: 65,000 Trump voters. 2. Bronx County: 55,000 Trump voters. 3. Queens County: 181,000 Trump voters. 4. Kings County: 174,000 Trump voters.

The Major County in Philadelphia: 1. Philadelphia County: 127,000 Trump voters.

The Major County in LA: 1. LA County: 984,000 Trump voters.

The Major County in San Francisco: 1. San Francisco County: 51,000 Trump voters.

The Major County in Chicago: 1. Cook County: 485,000 Trump voters.

These are just a couple of cities that come to mind. If Trump supporters behaved like petulant children, then sure, we can organize riots in each and every single one of America's cities. But that's the difference. We're good, decent people that have respect and civility. So do everyone a favor and kindly shut up.

There is some truth in what @Cre is saying.   It is more convenient to protest/riot when you live close to a big city and you will get plenty of media coverage.  If you live in a suburb of Idaho, it is going to challenging to find enough people to protest and it probably will not get covered by the media.

I'm Indian and I don't believe in it. I believe in racism 100% and I've been subjected to quite a bit of it, but it's NOT systematic and it hasn't prevented me from success. Same goes for my black peers.

Another Indian here. I believe that there is systematic racism in America. Don't simp for the dominant class, my dude

How dense is this fucking site? The protests and riots are the cause of innocent people dying at the hands of law enforcement, not because who the fucking president is. Hell, I don't even agree with the rioting, but I am informed enough to know the cause. I wish you guys would stop listening to far-right talking heads and actually see why these people are doing the things they do. Stop spreading hate and false narratives as it only furthers the divide.

Respond to specific comments. Where is the alt-right here?

People destroyed Washington, D.C. 4 years back when Trump was inaugurated.

  • January 20, 2017 – The DisruptJ20 Protests. Actions that occurred in Washington, DC that attempted to disrupt events of the presidential inauguration of the 45th U.S. President, Donald Trump.
  • May 28, 2017 – PGA Trump Protest on Memorial Day weekend against President Trump's with the internet of disrupting Senior PGA Senior Championship at Trump National Golf Course Washington DC to be broadcast live on NBC

Here are two examples of marches in DC that were against trump ( there are a handful more that are directly against things he did but I left them out).  Prior to that, I see non against Obama. The Left has proven that they will protest and riot so why would it not be fair to think they would so so again?

+1.  You are right.  Didn't you know that the people who do the looting and rioting are bad people.  SMH   I would assume that very few people here including me would support violence.  No one here can appreciate how black people are occasionally treated by law enforcement.  Some police officers treat black people differently from white people.  My dad did not have a conversation with me regarding how to respond when getting pulled over by a police officer.   Black parents feel like they need to have this conversation with their black sons.   Does this mean we should defund the police.  Of course not, but there should be more training for police officers.

Don’t worry. Given the number of folks out in the open without masks and drinking/sharing/celebrating, we will see an increase in covid cases.

The riots will be people trying to get into the emergency room.
