Which Bank is Still Hiring?
recently heard that MS and Citi are still conducting interviews for FT 2010 positions. I guess most banks are still under-staffed and they did not hire enough people back in Sep/Oct. I was wondering if anyone has color on which bank is still hiring and how to get in the loop (alumni connections? HR?).
Any advice would be greatly appreciated. Thanks a lot guys.
I get the general feeling that things are picking up and banks are feeling the pain after having over-fired during the downcycle (hmmm, where have I heard this before?). Who knows what particular banks have needs from week to week, just network the shit out of this process.
My question is, do banks have a set amount that they hire for FT analysts each year, or is it fluid, meaning, if someone comes along after the standard hiring has finished, is it a "sorry no more positions" or can they essentially create more analyst spots? Assume a person has a huge connection with someone at a very senior position.
Dude, like I said, who knows? Even if you did know, would it guarantee you that spot? How would knowing this change your strategy of getting hired? Don't be distracted by this who's up to what and how many, jedi mind trick bullshit. All it's going to do is throw you off your game. This is not what you want me to tell you.
Knowing whether they are fluid in FT analyst hiring will allow me to know whether or not getting an interview for a FT position at this point in time is still viable, taking into account a very notable connection with a senior banker. That's all I'm wondering, maybe it is a stupid question, but it would be somewhat helpful to know the standard on the issue...whether they hire a set amount of analysts and what not.
As Citi is now run by the government, they have a fixed/set number of people they can hire every single year in order to maximize inefficiency within all sectors of their business.
The point jhoratio is trying to make is you need to take care of your own business no matter what other people are doing, especially when it is nearly impossible for you to ever know. They might not be hiring anymore so you're not going to try? That's the best strategy to stay unemployed.
If you didn't get anything during regular recruiting season it just means you need to work even harder at getting an offer this semester. Good luck and hang in there.
Thanks for the advice monkeyman.
Michel Dyens & Co. , which focuses on consumer/retail is still hiring for NY and Paris BarCap IBD is still hiring for Europe
Full time is officially done for all banks.
Not true. I know at least one firm that is hiring 8-10 because they underestimated needs. Mainly IBD from what I hear.
Which firms revsly? would they be hired into specified groups?
How about summer analyst IBD? are they still hiring? for instance, places like DB, Barcap, MS?
Summer Analyst IBD definitely still have spots at most firms.
Yea you retards, the op is asking about full time. Give me a call I might have an ATM security guard position available.
1styearBanker keep your mouth clean. we are just trying to help each other out here.
And btw, if you haven't noticed, most commercial bank atms don't have security guards around these days. that's why it's called "automated teller machine."
