Women's Fashion: Matching Blazers with Dresses

title pretty much sums it up - will be starting next july and from what I heard dress suits are pretty common in the office. Does that just mean a dress with a matching blazer? Do you literally buy the same colored suits as your dresses? super confused lol, would super appreciate any advice!

I guess you could match the blazer to your dress... I'm fairly certain I've seen it done frequently.  You can also go with the jacket, shirt and skirt combo where the jacket matches the skirt.  The answer to your last question is yes. I've seen it done. Depending on where you work, you won't  need to wear a jacket frequently.

If possible try reaching out to other females in your group, it'll be an excellent excuse to reach out and connect.

I've typically seen simple neutral dresses with a nice cardigan or a less formal blazer. Depending on what job you have, I think it's good practice to have a formal suit jacket in the office just in case.
