Hold up, you are telling me that being paid for by the government increases one's salary? I thought it just forces it towards the mean salary? And I thought with the government lowering the bar for physicians pay that would drive it down in all sectors right?

 

It's been my conjecture that the increasing public nature of healthcare has been raising costs across the board because unlike individuals, the doctors and pharma can just charge the government whatever they want and be greeted with a blank check. And since healthcare is subsidized, demand doesn't decrease as price increases.
