WSO Banana System ReHaul

Just a thought, but I think our banana score (that we largely earn by commenting and posting), should be convertible to silver bananas, and instead we pay for monkey shit. That way we can start awarding thorough posts more heavily.

Ex. I have 200 bananas, I see PosterX wrote a long witty discussion, thus I am able to select throwing him 1 - 10 bananas as an award bringing me down to 199 - 190 bananas.

Ex. I have 100 bananas, I see PosterX wrote a shitty discussion with typos, I buy monkey shit and able to select to throw 1 - 10 pieces of shit to pelt his banana score down.

Thoughts?

I can't imagine what kind of offensive comment warrants the purchase of virtual monkey feces to be thrown at it.

in it 2 win it

Yesterday I saw a comment arguing getting a high rank on WoW is equal if not superior than extracurriculars and should be a driving pillar that Admissions should note because apparently this kid had "a rank not many people in the world have".

I would of spent 100 feces to get him in the negatives.

But I guess it does give to much weight to newcomers.

FSCI can't imagine what kind of offensive comment warrants the purchase of virtual monkey feces to be thrown at it.

I'd throw piles of shit if it could get people to stop saying "would of".

I think you're on to something, but I would much rather throw monkey shit around than hand out sb's. Could we find a way to allow for more shit instead?

aaaaaand that's one of the major issues this site faces
You don't incentivize quality posts that way. A poo for a poo leaves the whole site blind.

Why convert only to SBs? The whole point of that stuff is to rate stuff up or down, and this would indeed give newcomers too much immediate influence. They give some out when you reach certain milestones, and you can buy them.

....or you can just jack a few hundred like I did

No the elder council of wso 2% already voted upon this in the sacred lobby of the Goldman Sachs. We had the chance to destroy the monkey shit for once and for all by throwing into the Toilet from whence it came but the greed of men failed us and ant took it to be used on liberals and the needy, it is the precious
