You Got Accepted to These Schools..Now What?

Hi guys, I hope everyone is doing well.

A question regarding the following schools (they are decent, yet not tier 1, nor Ivy League):

In case you have gotten accepted to any of: Notre Dame, Rochester, Rutgers (MFinA), Brandeis, NorthEastern, and Babson - for a master's in Quantitative Finance - Which school should you attend to?

Why?

Thanks a lot.

You like cold winters, eh?

I jest... I would say it depends to a certain extent on what your ultimate goal is, but of those schools you mentioned, Notre Dame probably has the highest amount of overall "prestige" / "brand value" (God, I hate these terms... ugh...) and alumni network in finance, but I've heard good things about Northeastern as well. Northeastern has a co-op program which almost guarantees you will graduate with a job. I actually did a Zoom call with Megan Richmond not too long ago (she was reaching out to see if my firm would be interested in hiring some students) She is one of the co-op coordinators at the D'Amore-McKim School of Business at Northeastern and handles helping students specifically interested in finance roles get placed. Heard good things about Babson as well. Rutgers would be a good pick merely for its proximity to NYC.

🤣 That was a good one! Indeed, it's gonna be as cold as hell. Thank you for your insight, I really appreciate it.

Northeastern has a great co-op program that will give you a good shot of having solid internship experiences in Boston

So when it comes to Boston: Brandeis vs NEU, it's 100% NEU?

Rochester probably has better placement in NYC, NEU/Babson has stronger alumni network in Boston.
