Honor Societies - Question about ODK

Hey guys,

I was invited in my junior year to join Eta Kappa Nu (Electrical/Computer Eng.) - Joined

I was also invited to join Omicron Delta Kappa in junior year I passed.

They sent another invitation the beginning of this semester and i applied just for the hell of it and was picked. I then learned about how you must attend like 4-6 meetings/events and this was too much for me considering I'm taking 22, taking GRE's, Grad apps, senior project, and other things.

I was also invited for Tau Beta Pi just this past week and will definitely join that because its the best society for engineering.

Did I make a mistake by rejecting ODK (leadership)? Or it won't really hurt me.

My resume definitely shows leadership qualities/experience but I hope that not having ODK in there doesn't bite me hard. If the person reads my resume they can find the leadership they are searching for...

If someone can clear this up it would be great!

Best,

Yeah...I sent off a polite "thank you but no thank you" note to ODK at my college saying because of time issue and what not I can't do it.

Then again...I hope that if someone is looking for leadership they will browse my resume and not just look for "Omicron Delta Kappa".

I'm an engineering major so I will never be eligible for PBK....but I think TBP is almost equivalent for engineers (or at-least in the engineering world or people who know about honor societies).
