Deloitte: Banking & Securities vs Cap Mkts vs Fin Serv?
I see Deloitte promotes the following business lines: banking and securities, operational capital markets and financial services. Does anyone have any insight as to the different projecs each line is involved in?
It seems these lines overlap each other. I'm sure there are differences within their projects.
A lot of it will depend on which service line you join (i.e. Audit, Tax, Corp.Fin etc.). Deloitte has recently changed to categorizing it's business by industry rather than by service line so everyone working in Capital Markets will simply be described as that, rather than as Audit, Tax, CF etc.
Within their Audit division, they merge banking, securities and capital markets into one group called Banking & Capital Markets (BCM) which has a sub-division called Financial Instruments, Treasury & Securitization (FITS) which does a mixture of audit and advisory work.
PM me if you'd like some more info.
The position would be within the Strategy & Operations - Banking and Securities....Does that help?
Asatar - do you know if PwC does this too? A friend of mine got an offer from PwC as a Tax Intern, but said he's doing Financial Instruments and covering not just tax but also audit and advisory (how the heck does he get to do all 3?)
