New York Institute of Finance
I'm curious what the sentiment is regarding their programs. I used to work in ER, but started a business about a year and a half ago. I am in the process of selling the business and am looking to get back into finance (specifically AM or S&T). Since I am about to have a lot of free time on my hands I am looking to do something productive. Has anyone ever done any of their programs? I'm wondering if it would bolster my resume/prove interest at the minimum. I also wouldn't mind learning some more and keeping my brain sharp during this 'off-period.'
Some people I know have done the program and have mixed reviews. Many of them are in mid-level/senior positions so I'm not sure how much they really got out of it which may be the root of some of the mixed reviews.
Honestly, i almost did, but then i found Aswath Damodaran's website (google damodaran online) you may not get the certificate like with NYIF, but its all free and he is the king of valuation, corporate finance and imo finance in general. he puts up all his classes online for free, including his MBA class. Its a homerun.
