640ish when I took my first few cold practice tests. Haven't quite taken the official one yet but I'm at a stage where I'm only really taking practice tests (will take official test in a month or so) and have been averaging low to mid 700's. Hoping for around a 730+ on the official one.
In a short simulated test I got 450-490. More than a year later in an official practice test I got 600. Then I started studying and three months later in the actual test I got 690. Wasn't good enough though.
Where did you apply?
I got 560 on my first try 3 weeks ago ahah. Haven’t taken the office one yet but will do it on 27th of September. Hoping to get 700+.
620 cold (manhattan gmat practice test) 740 actual - 11 weeks later
How much did you study per day on average?
approx 20-25 hrs/wk
So you studied for like 200+ hours? I am asking because GMAT says on the website candidates who score 700+ usually spend like 120 hours.
First Practice - 580 First - 680 Second - 710 Third - 730
This was over the course of a year. I didn't study a whole lot though, consistency was key.
-practice test after finishing OG: 720 -went through manhattan SC(must read!) -finished 10+ prep test, varies from 640 - 740
760 on first try, super excited!
720 first official one 700 2nd one 740 third one
I would suggest using gmat club to learn the best ways to solve problems
how many hours did you study before you took the first one and in between?
for the first one like 2 weeks with 4/5 hours each day. Second one the same but my score lowered. Third one I did not study for an entire month and did my best score
I think high 400's cold... I mean ice cold. Not finishing sections was the real problem there. 3-4 months studying got a 730 on the real thing, first try.
Don't read into your first practice test too much.. especially if you didn't finish.
This article about increase GMAT Score is really amazing, congratulations for all thanks!
First practice - 580
Studied for the month, took my first and only official test at 740 and sent it off
Blind test (no study, didn't even know length of the test) of the official GMAT practice: 650
1 month of studying about 7 hr/week
Official GMAT practice (one day before actual exam): 790
GMAT: 740
Practiced with GMAT club questions and a question bank from a local GMAT school in my city, which was surprisingly similar to actual GMAT. Kind of feel I could have done better but still very satisfied
