How often do people in Equity Research go into banking?
Have been doing tons of ER interviews and I was curious about doing a stint in banking eventually. Maybe 2 yrs research than 2 years of banking -> B school etc.
I was wondering, how many former ER guys do you see in banking?
From searching on LinkedIn and networking I have found people that have entered IB at many different levels in their careers, from ER -> IB analyst -> Director level.
I imagine it is easier to lateral as an analyst, but having seen research associates/analysts become VPs and Directors after a long time in research (I imagine due to an industry-specific focus) Is it all that common?
