Crossover/HF Investing Post Tech Banking

Hi,

Incoming BB tech banking analyst in the bay interested in HF/Crossover investing (Altimeter, Coatue, Tiger Global, other SM funds) after my analyst program.Wanted to know what I should do to prep for recruiting and am also curious about how to navigate opportunities in the space.

Thank you for the help!

Crossover seats tend to be highly desired and competitive to recruit for, with preference given to "top" PE / growth equity candidates. If you're serious about this, I'd dual track crossover recruiting with PE / GE recruiting (think BX / KKR / APO / GA, etc.)

With that said, life is short and I'd caution you against taking another job just to set you up for your third job after college unless you honestly think you'd like the seat regardless. It may make more sense to broaden your search to "relatively high paying, relatively good culture" private investing jobs, assuming that's what you're solving for

are you at ms menlo or goldman? if not may as well give up the dreams
