In theory this completely depends on the junior. But in reality this is often true because people coming into ER know they have to be good at modeling, but some do not know they also need to be good writers.
Yeah. Modeling / valuation is commodity. Writing is what sells reports.
A hall of fame analyst can make paper & packaging or chemical companies sound interesting through writing and TV appearances.
