Going from Consulting to Industry
I just got laid off from Accenture right before Christmas and would like advice as to which types of companies and job roles to apply to. My background is:
-Accenture: 2 years; cloud advisory consultant (Dallas)
-Boutique M&A firm: 1.5 years; associate, financial modeling (San Diego)
-Oracle: 1 year; tech sales (Boston)
I've been interviewing with some of the Big 4 as well as some of the Fortune 500 Dallas based companies in industry in various roles (consulting, corporate strategy, tech strategy/digital transformation) but have not had any offers yet because of Christmas/New Year. Which types of companies and roles should I be looking at? I've heard people say that it's good to get 2 years of consulting experience at a top firm then go to a "big boring company in industry." Does anyone have any input? Thank you.
