Consulting: Middlebury or Vanderbilt?
I am a transfer student from UW-Seattle. I have one week to choose one of them. I will be double majoring in Econ and Psych. Which one would be a better choice for consulting? Thanks!

I honestly think both of these schools are so different where you need to go to whichever you feel is a better fit. One is a southern, fratty school while the other is a small, isolated liberal arts college. Both should be alright for MBB if you thrive there and do well.
This is like asking whether you should order the tiramisu or the peach cobbler. Both are good, but they are so different that it depends which one YOU like more.
Vanderbilt is probably regarded as the slightly "better" school in the sense that it has a bit more brand recognition, has an average student profile that is a smidge stronger, and is bigger (so larger alumni base). But making decisions based on metrics where margins this small is kindof stupid since averages and metrics can't take into account your specific preferences. Have you visited either? Are you looking for a smaller school or a bigger school with D1 sports (not that Vanderbility is "big" - just comparatively speaking)? What don't you like about UW/what are you looking for? This is one of those decisions where it really does come down to personal preference as both are good options.
I feel like I have no preference over the school size. So my question is just the career prospective.
I'm at a T2 firm right now, and attending a target school is extremely important for breaking into the non-MBB top tier firms, who often are running leaner recruiting operations. Vanderbilt is a target for some MBB + T2 firms, whereas Middlebury is not, to my knowledge.
A little biased because I went to Vandy, but Vandy is in Nashville, one of America's great cities (amazing food, bars, culture, live music and surrounding area and campus) and I have seen substantially more people on Wall Street from Vandy than Middlebury (I see Middlebury alums, but I believe that Vandy has a better pipeline into NYC finance jobs). Name recognition is a little better at Vandy. I also am inclined to believe that you get more of a traditional SEC college experience than you would at a place like Middlebury which is smaller (some people prefer that, but I felt like I enjoyed Vandy's college experience more than I would have somewhere smaller).
Don't have a dog in this fight but Vandy as 5x as many students as Middlebury, so it makes sense to see more Vandy kids. Also, since you went to Vandy, you may see more Vandy alumni because you know a lot of Vandy alumni and then you meet their Vandy co-workers/friends
