Investor Relations or Placement Agent gigs

So I was just thinking about the route for transitioning from banking into the fundraising space, specifically at a Placement Agent or a Fund itself in the Investor Relations role. I am currently an Associate in FIG looking to transition to a more fundraising focused job either on the transaction management or deal origination side (not that opinionated in which at this stage). Also a CFA L3 finalist, when I finally get the chance to sit it! Does anyone have any tips for approaching my search, or any opportunities that they might be aware of? It would be amazing to get the opportunity to chat to any existing guys or girls in the space and find out your motivations and experiences.
