CF (FP&A) to AM? IB?

I will be doing corporate finance FP&A summer internship at a F600 IT company this junior summer. I'll be doing some financial modeling, variance analysis and other accounting stuff.

For my full time job, I want to work in Big 4 valuations, AM, or possibly any work related to M&A.. Can I leverage myself into those areas? Judging solely from my internship experience. Or should I try to find an unpaid internship from a small AM? (Although it might be too late..)

I study business at a non-target (Carnegie Mellon).
