How right am I about asset management?

I'm interested in getting into asset management. I read this thread a while back. I thought it was for asset management. (https://www.wallstreetoasis.com/forum/hedge-fund/…). Ever since then I've been following the hyperlinked OP's model on picking stocks. So I've been reading like 30 minutes a day for each book for the past couple of weeks, etc.... .. Anyways, so I just found out that the OP is in hedge funds. Does that mean the linked' information is irrelevant to asset management? What spurred my realisation was when I started looking at asset management job descriptions, and it was totally different to what I thought asset management would be.

Here's an example

https://jobbio.com/companies/citygrad-2/jobs/grad…

So, to sum up my question...... how correct/ incorrect would be in assuming that the first link (wso link, not the job post) is entirely what asset management is about.

I assume you're trying to distinguish between long only hedge funds and long only mutual funds. The main difference is in the investment time horizon. Generally speaking, analysts in both LO HFs and MFs could potentially be looking for answers to all the things pointed out in the first link but one is for the next quarter and the other is for 3 - 5 years in the future.
