Breaking into AM/Buy-Side in India targeting HNI/Private Wealth — advice needed
BCom (Hons.) Finance grad, India. Trying to break into asset management on the buy-side, longer-term interest in working with HNI or private wealth clients specifically.
Struggling to find firms in India focused on true HNI/private client investing most I come across are mutual fund or pension fund oriented, not private wealth or UHNI-focused.
Prioritizing hands-on experience right now over an MBA. Considering CFA down the line, but weighing the cost against building a track record first.
Building stock pitches, models in the meantime, open to boutique PMS/wealth firms as entry points.
Would appreciate: firms in India actually worth targeting for HNI-focused buy-side work, how realistic this path is without CFA MBA at entry level right now.
