Superday results - Asset Management

Hi all,

Finished a superday for a front office role at a global asset management firm. 48 hours after the end of the superday, I got a call from HR (unscheduled) to give me some feedback that the interviewers were really impressed with me and really enjoyed meeting me, etc. They then said that the final decision will take a bit longer than initially communicated. As per the them final decision will be made within 1-2 weeks instead of the 1 week initially communicated to me on the superday. The HR then proceeded to ask me some additional questions like:

  • What type of work visa/sponsorship I would need?

  • What my notice period is at current firm?

  • When I could start, hypothetically?

  • Where else am I interviewing right now and at what stage?

  • Are there other offers I am expecting or have on the table right now?

I've heard that superdays at BB investment banks (IBD, S&T, etc.) usually call with an offer within 24-48 hours. However, this is for an asset management only firm - any insights would be appreciated.

Is this is a good sign or am I the alternate/backup candidate? Role is at Associate/VP level for context.

Thanks in advance.
