Investment Operations Next Steps

I graduated from a target school with a degree in social sciences. After school, I accepted a trade support position at a 3rd party provider. My performance and VBA/SQL coding skills earned me a promotion to a project/reporting position. Most recently, I've accepted a trade support position at a prominent alternative credit firm. While many would see that as a step back, I wanted to return to trade support since reporting was a bit dry for me...I also couldn't turn down a six-figure offer. At 25 I want to keep pushing my career forward.

What is the ideal MO career path?

If it's best to transition out of MO, what areas do you recommend? (From other posts, it seems as though a MBA or CFA will be required at some point. No need to iterate that transitioning to the FO is difficult.)
