Investment writer role at large AM as a career start?
I'm graduating with a MSc in finance soon and have a good opportunity to enter a very large AM firm that is looking for an investment writer. I would need to translate the investment strategies into client-digestible language. Also what the financial markets have been doing, macro, industries, rates, etc... and what it means for portfolios/stocks/commodities,...
However, in the longer-term I'd like to enter into actual investment decision roles. Plus, with the wide-spread use of AI and LLMs, who knows how long this function lasts. Am I cooked if I accept the investment writer role now, would I even be able to pivot away from it in a year or two? I don't want to be seen as a marketer or journalist which I heard can happen if you take "communication" roles in finance. Thanks in advance for the advice!
