Based on the most helpful WSO content, the compensation for different levels in private banking at JPM can be as follows:

  • VP: $200-250K all-in
  • ED: $300-500K all-in
  • MD: $400-$800K all-in

These figures can vary widely as it largely depends on how the Private Bank performs as a whole. If someone posts exceptional Q1 numbers, they could potentially earn more than this.

As for the bonuses being ~20% of the revenue produced, I don't have specific information on that. However, it's important to note that bonuses in banking are often a significant portion of the total compensation and are typically tied to performance. So, it's plausible that the bonus could be a percentage of the revenue produced.

Remember, these numbers are for the PB's core cities (NYC, Chicago, Houston, Dallas, LA, and San Fran), they might be lower for the more regional offices.

Hope this helps! If you have more questions, feel free to ask.

crazy numbers, congrats! That‘s more than some IB peers at your level. Could you share some light on how that has evolved over the years and how you were performing in terms of flows brought in vs. target?

Assoc 0 (Stub) - $165K TC: $125k base, $40k stub bonus

Assoc 1 - $250k TC: $150k base (starting base was raised from $125k to $150k in 2022), $100k bonus

Assoc 2 - $395k TC: $170k base, $225k bonus

Assoc 3 - $475k TC: $170K base, $305k bonus

VP 1 - $600k TC: $285k base, $315k bonus

I've been a consistent top performer and my flows while I was on the new hire plan (comp based on net inflows) were above average for my year
