How to Break into the Asset Management Industry at Top Buy-Side Firms
I wanted to start a discussion here about how to get your foot in the door when applying for AM roles. I see too many misconceptions out there in these forums.

what’s most important these days is the story/narrative you’re able to portray through your resume and interview.
I’ve conducted interviews for summer analysts and FT entry level analyst roles at BlackRock and can tell you I’ve seen too many students from top schools with high GPAs and strong work experiences. This is the pre-requisite. This is not the main thing institutions are looking for when trying to discover future talent.
There’s a lot more to it than what is just on paper. I also speak from personal experience before I went into AM
