Single family office

I've recently been contacted by a single family office about running the fund and wanted to see if anyone had any similar experience. The fund is just shy of $1b and currently has a few operational investments. Most of the family's money is currently sitting with some wealth advisors and the owner is looking to transfer the capital to this new fund. They hired a few back office personnel but are looking to build out the investment team and continue growing the fund. I've never worked for/with any single family offices in my career so not sure what to expect. The comp seems reasonable and they mentioned there is an equity component but haven't seen that number yet. Would love to hear any thoughts on things to push for or watch out for. I've met the patriarch a few times and he seems reasonable but haven't spend enough time in one sitting to know if its going to be a good partnership. In my view, our relationship is the most crucial piece in accepting this role.
