Vacation Days in Asset Management?

I've read a lot of posts about culture and work hours in AM but haven't seen many comments on vacation time. Is it similar to IB where you get 2-3 weeks of "vacation", but you never get to actually use the days? Do you have the ability to go to Europe for a week in June and take a week in the carribean in December?

I know this isn't a technical question, but lets be honest - what's the point in making good money if you don't have time to spend and enjoy it?

Where I work, it is very flexible when you get to use your vacation days and many people have the opportunity to use them all. Plus like 3 personal days per year.

I work for a $750B fund complex in the US and I would say that people are pretty good about using their vacation days. I'm sure it varies by group and office, but our company culture is very pro work/life balance. I came from a F50 where no one used their shitty allotment of 10 vacation days per year because you would be "seen" as a slacker. Fuck that mentality, life is way too short.

2 weeks plus 3 personal days. Personal days don't accrue, but I think vacation days do up to a certain point. Granted I just started, so will only get 1 week for this year (which I probably won't use).
