Accenture question

So I'm going in for my third round for Accenture. It worked out last year that I made 1st/2nd round but they didnt offer me for a summer internship... "limited spots" but they will let me bypass the 1st/2nd round again for the third round. This is an in office one and I'm wondering if there is a case interview. Basically, I'm wondering how the structure will be... just fit questions.. how many interviews, etc, etc.

So I went on my final round interview with Accenture in the LA office on Friday (10/3). They said it takes like 2-3 weeks to hear back. Is that really true or do they only just say that. I figure they would contact the ones qualified like within a week right? Why do they take so long?

Offers can take anywhere from the day of the interview to a month. 2-3 weeks is the standard answer, and it mainly depends on market demand for the office you're applying for. If there's no space in the LA office for someone with your background, then they'll look to see at other offices if they can take you in which takes a while. I wouldn't take it personally, but figure you won't hear back from them for another 2-3 weeks.

So it's been almost 6 weeks since I interviewed with Accenture... tomorrow makes it 6. It could be 5 but I'm not sure since so much time has passed. At the 3 week mark, they emailed me informing me they were still deciding. I emailed a followup about a week after and they said they still had no updates regarding my application. What is going on? Are they willing to hire me but just unsure how the market will turn out? What is going on? Does anybody have any insight?

I'll be honest with you - you probably aren't going to get an offer so I hope you have something else lined up. The # of offers are extremely...and I mean extremely low this year considering the # of schools that Accenture recruits from in SoCal. This economy is really affecting everybody and layoffs are just starting to kick up...

Best of luck to you.

they've just offered a voluntary leave program... to basically give people a bonus for quitting... of course they still will need brand new analyst but overall things are not looking great... i'm assuming they might be nervous about brining you on and not having work for you. i was hired in 02 when the market was also bad.. and everyone was deferred after being hired.. i was deferred 6 months and given a 5k bonus at the time, many were deferred for a year. not sure what they are doing now. i would def keep them as an option but look for other choices too since i would say things aren’t guaranteed even if you do get an offer

If you haven't heard back within the week, you're probably on an unofficial waitlist - either they have multiple other rounds of interviews and you didn't pass the "hire now" bar, or they can't hire you regardless but don't want to close doors.

If you haven't heard back within two weeks, I'd recommend a short email to recruiting and/or any employees you met in the process that you clicked with just to check-up and do your due diligence.

If you're interviewing on the IT side, expect mostly behavioral and some technology/technically oriented questions. Also depends on how you did in previous 1st/2nd rounds and what your "file" says are your weaknesses.
